Chris running the London Marathon

Hello everyone! I'm Chris, an incredibly average runner based in Nottingham, UK.

My interest in running dates back to my primary school days, where I would frequently take part in 100m sprint, relay and cross country events. Owing to the fact that I reached puberty a good two years before most of the other children, I often won these events with ease due to my towering height. However, time is a cruel mistress and soon the other children began to tower over me. This, coupled with a desire to focus on academia, meant that running and sports in general would take a back seat for many years.

In my mid 20s, I moved to Nottingham and decided to run the 10K to raise money for charity. It was a great opportunity to explore my new home and I had a fantastic time. As the years passed and I vowed never to run greater distances, I soon found myself running the Nottingham Half Marathon for the first time in 2018 and London Marathon in 2021. I also took part a number of virtual challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic as a way to pass the time, but mostly because I'm a bit of a medal whore.

My next race is Chicago Marathon in October 2022. I'll working on my strength and conditioning over the next few months with the hope of completing it in around 4 hours, 15 minutes.
